While visiting the private Old folks home last thursday, suddenly i have a very strong feeling that i should write about this in my website here and share with everyone and here i am.

In fact i have been visiting quite regularly to these two private old folks home here in Kota Kinabalu under the church ministry whereby we will go there to have a gathering with them and we will worship together with them, share the Words of God with them, pray for them and talk to them.  Most of them was quite ill and most of them was there as their children do not have time to look after them and so they send them there so that somebody can  look after them and they will pay for their fees which i think is not cheap.

Normally we will start our visiting at 2pm and finish around 4pm as we went to two old folks home, one after another.  Last thursday when i walked in to the second old folks home, i saw a very familiar face who was on bed there.  After we have finished the gathering, when i walked near the bed to look closely at this familiar face, then i realised that he is sister’s brother in law who got stroke few months ago.  I felt sad cause he now needs special attention as he cannot really move easily by himself and he has to put on pamplets.  I can see that he did not really like to talk much, so all i can say is..to encourage him to be strong and get well soon before i leave.

One day we are going to get old too, so looking at them are like looking at our future us….and i think it is important that we should make a decision now what type of life we want to have when we are old and the decision that you and i make today will decide the future old me and you.

In life , beside getting old, there are a lot of uncertainties like illness etc..etc…but it does not mean that we must live in worries or fear due to this uncertainties but i think the most important is we must have the wisdom to start our proper financial planning now so as we can enjoy our life when all planning has been made.

Life is beautiful but it will turn to bad without proper financial planning as beside good health, money is still important for us to carry on our daily life as we need to pay for our food, shelter..etc…etc…

In conclusion, i wish to share a few points as follows:

(1) look after our health, have proper food, enough rest and exercise

(2) if your parents are still around, spend more time with them

(3) value your life and spend your time wisely

(4) do have quality time with your own family and children etc.

(5) must start a good financial planning now like setting up yr retirement fund account now, have a good    and comprehensive insurance plan which cover all areas like early death, medical expenses etc.
