Prudential Dinasti Equity Fund to ride on China’s consumption boom

October 29

Kuala Lumpur, 26 October 2009 – Prudential Fund Management Berhad (PFMB) today
launched a new Shariah-compliant equity fund that leverages on the anticipated consumption
growth in China.

Called the Prudential Dinasti Equity Fund (“PRUdinasti”, or the “Fund”), the Fund seeks to
achieve its objective by investing primarily in Greater China-based Shariah-compliant equities
listed in recognised exchanges in the People Republic of China (PRC), Hong Kong, Taiwan as
well as other permissible exchanges such as Singapore, Malaysia and the United States.

In launching this fund today, PFMB Chief Officer of Products and Marketing Christopher Chan
described this approach as a twin-pronged strategy that enabled investors to benefit from both
ends – consumption surge within mainland China as well as potentially more favourable equity
valuations of selected companies in a wider pool of available exchanges in the Greater China
region.

PFMB has also worked with Dow Jones Indexes to create an index, the Dow Jones Islamic
Market Greater China Index, to be used as a benchmark by the Fund.

“When we first realized there was a need to a more fitting measure of the Shariah-compliant
equities in the Greater China region, we approached Dow Jones Indexes to create the Dow
Jones Islamic Market Greater China Index because we recognize Dow Jones Indexes as one
of the leading global providers in indices”, said Mark Toh, Regional Head of Islamic Fund
Management, Prudential Corporation Asia and also the Chairman, and Acting CEO of PFMB.

“PFMB’s decision to select the Dow Jones Islamic Market Greater China Index as the
benchmark for the PRUdinasti equity fund gives market participants in Malaysia exposure to
the stock performance of leading Shariah-compliant companies in Hong Kong, mainland China
and Taiwan. The index is part of the unique Dow Jones Islamic Market index series which
combines faith-based principles with investing. In 1999, Dow Jones Islamic Market Indexes
were the first to market and have set the standards of Islamic indexing ever since,” said
Michael A. Petronella, President, Dow Jones Indexes.

Chan explained that PRUdinasti extended its focus to Taiwan and Hong Kong as part of its
diversification as the consumption boom of Mainland China would need some time to take full
flight, citing the fact that private domestic consumption as share of GDP in China is the lowest
among the four BRIC countries1 (Brazil, Russia, India, China), besides being just over half of
what US consumption rate is2. In addition, PFMB believes there is also a lack of Shariahcompliant
products in this category and with the Malaysian regulators supporting Islamic Fund
Management activities, we are pleased to offer Malaysian and global investors this opportunity
to participate in this sector.

“China’s urban population is seen touching 47% next year and is projected to hit 57% by 20203.
Currently, urban consumer spending is estimated at 37% of GDP (Gross Domestic Product)
and it has the potential of almost growing to 50% in 11 years 4 . Imagine the growth of
companies that pander to this domestic consumption capacity and this is where we will focus
on to provide our investors with potentially attractive returns over a long term horizon,” Chan
added.

“By also looking at companies in Hong Kong and Taiwan, which are already among China’s top
five trade partners in 2008 and benefiting from the harmonious economic link with China, we
are able to adjust our investments accordingly to wherever there is better growth at any point in
time. Rest assured, our on-the-ground knowledge of investment experience in the China
securities through our successful partnership with CITIC-Prudential will continuously lead us in
bringing value to our investors.” stated Chan.
Investors interested in seeking long term capital appreciation through participation in Shariahcompliant
Greater China equities will find this Fund suitable for their portfolios.

Correspondingly, these investors would also have a high tolerance for risk and have a longterm
investment horizon.

A total of 100 million units of the Fund are available for subscription beginning 26 October 2009
to 15 November 2009 at a price of RM1.00 per unit for a minimum investment of RM1,00

china dinasti equity fund

October 26

Hey..friend…there is a new fund launching today…i.e. china dinasti equity fund as china is having a very high comsumption rate due to its hugh population and so the investment opportunity is great.

As the Bank fixed deposit rate is so low now, around 2.5% per annum, it will be wise to divisify your saving so as to earn more, if not, due to inflation, your money or saving will be depreciated then at the end of the day.. you will find that your money has become so small in value..As you are aware that nowadays cost of living is increasing, the toilet roll that we used to buy at about rm8.90 now has increased to rm11.50 and more, so you can imagine if we just keep our money at the Fixed deposit rate of rm2.5%, at the end of the day, our money will become small in value.

So, friend , start to divisify your saving now..for this fund, minimum investment amount is rm1000,  if you wish to know more…do contact me….no obligation…you are most welcomed to get more information from me…good day……

The Joy of Giving…..

September 22

Hey..friends…hope it is not too late for me to wish everyone SELAMAT HARI RAYA and happy holiday…:)

For those who have read my previous sharing on GIVING, now I wish to share on the Joy of Giving which i just experienced few minutes ago.

Last night…I received a call from my policyholder’s mother and asking if i can see her this morning as she has something to ask me about an business opportunity, at first, i was a bit hesitate as i have planned to finish off my filing and paperwork within these two days Hari Raya holiday but within a second, a thought came into my mind, i have to see her as i think she really needs my advice and that is why she will call me cause she seldom contact me.

So this morning went to see her and she asked me a lot of question concerning the business and i tried my best to explain to her the information that i knew and advice her to look at the business plan carefully and highlight a few points or fators that she should look at.  Finally she has a clearer mind and i am happy cause at least i have given her some ideas as she told me she is confused and really dont know who to ask.

On the way driving home, I felt very happy cause at least i have shared to someone what i knew and hopefully it will help her to make her decision.  I suddenly realised this is some form of giving as well. So, friends, do share whatever you know to anyone that needs the information as in a way, you are giving too…this is the reason why i like to have coffee with friends rather than going shopping cause through coffee time and chatting time, we can share and learn from each other and from what we have learnt, we can share with others who needs such information.

So, friends, do share of whatever you know…and if you like to share with me..you are most welcome to have coffee with me….cheers………great day…..

GIVING

September 17

A thought to share……..LIVE EVERYDAY AS THOUGH YOU HAVE SOMETHING GOOD TO GIVE…then question like “do i have anything to give?”will appear in most of people mind…..but…………..

Take a look around and think:

(1) what do i have that can become a blessing for another?

(2)do i have something material(money, books, clothes etc)?

(3)can i offer something intangible(a great attitude, a thankful heart,or a helping hand)?

Then you will find that you will have at least one thing to give…so friends…make full use of your life everyday to give and to be a blessing for another.

Great Monday morning

August 17

Yes…today is monday and it is a great monday morning

As today i have no morning meeting to attend and so i decided to give myself two hours of quiet time just for myself . Most of us is busy almost everyday for our work and running around to accomplish our task or activities and also do other things for others but somehow we forget to give some good time for our own self ..the inner us…

It will be good if we can allocate one or two hours for ourselves, just by ourselves so that we can refresh ourselves. For me, i hardly have this quiet time for myself and this morning..suddenly my inner voice told me..hey…please give me some quiet time..hehe..and so i decided to be at home..to have my coffee and bread and egg..and read my bible and suddenly a lot of new ideas came into my mind and suddenly i realised a lot of things which is benefit for my life journey as well as for my ministry in Church.

It is a great monday morning for me and i hope you can have your great monday morning too…hehe…and do remember to give sometimes for your inner self to talk to you and also let God has the chance to talk to you..

You might be confused of what i have just shared..you do it then you will understand …as saying goes…informtion will not bring any result but action do…so…take action..friends..and you will find the joy in your life…yeahhhhhhhhhh

INSURANCE CLAIM- Life & Medical?????

August 1

Hey…friends…suddenly wish to write something about insurance claim…….:)

Have anyone of you experiencing problems in insurance claim on life insurance and medical claim????if you do have, you are most welcomed to contact me so that i can see if i can help..no promise but will do my best to help.

The reason i highlight this ..is because a lot of people dislike insurance cause they heard a lot about bad insurance claim like non payment to claim and difficult to claim etc…etc…and some refused to buy insurance also because of this reason which i feel very bad and sad for them…

Actually insurance is easy to claim , the only thing is you must make sure that you have submitted your application properly , what i mean here is..disclose everything that u knew of especially your health history when you buy your insurance. and most important thing is know what you are covered, cause they are some people, they only buy the Personal accident insurance and when they got sick and need to be admitted to hospital, they go to claim…definately they cannot get the claim cause they are only covered for personal accident…right???

So understand what insurance you are having is very important and also to make sure you insurance programme that you have bought covered all areas like all types of death, total permanent disbility, critical illness, medical card etc..etc…dont wait until you got it..then only read your policy and found that you are not covered..then definately you cannot claim. and it is too late.

So, my suggestion is..if you do have your insurance now, please do read your policy and make sure you understand what you are covered and if you cannot understand and not sure, please do contact your agent and make sure they explain to you properly and if you cannot get your agent, you are most welcome to contact me and i will try to help.

Life stages????

August 1

As you all aware, i am an insurance agent and my responsibility is to share with others the importance of insurance protection for each individual and i love to share cause i know if my sharing can help the person to start an insurance plan even if it is just a small saving of rm50..or rm100 a month, i know that i have helped this person and his or her family.

As i always say..a lot of people , they are scare of meeting insurance agent and one of the main reason is they feel that the insurance agent wants to sell them insurance and they dont feel good about it…cause need to get money out from the pocket..well…if you do have such feeling..then you can always look for me cause for me, i will never force people to buy unless they want to…hehe..so..you wont need to get money out from your wallet unless you are willing to..but a cup of coffee has to be paid by you lor cause free consultation..hehe…it is fair, rite?hehehehe…you can choose coffeebean or struckbuck or kedai kopi also can..hehe…

Anywhere, back to the main point which i like to share today, in fact, insurance is just a term or rather a word…what we are always talking about is four areas of our life which is as follows:-

(1)Living death

(2)dying to soon

(3)living too long

(4)wealth creation

Let us look at the first one that is , LIVING DEATH which include disability, critical illness…that means we still live, we still can breath, we still can eat and sleep but unfortunately we cannot do any more work due to disability or critical illness like stroke, cancer etc….so no more income for us and at this time we will depend solely on the money that we have saved and when it is not enough for me to keep our expenses then we will have to go back to our parents and family members for their support.  They love you and definately they will support you but is it fair, especially to our parents who has spent so much to raise us up until we can work and earn ourselves and when this things happen we still go back to them for them to feed us????is it fair?????or can they afford?????as they might be old and in their retirement too?????????

How about…..DYING TOO SOON???we have completed our study and started to work and some of us have got married and have children and having a happy life and some of us are having good life as we are having good income, and with this income we can bring our family for holidays…for good food and give them the best life style…but…….suddenly we are forced to leave this picture and leave alone our family members or children, then our monthly income stop as we are no more around….who is going to bring this money back to the home very month for the expenses?????????food for the children?for the parents???????what will happen to our lovely parents?our lovely children?who is going to pay for the bills like electricity bills, house rental or loan instalment and their school fees???????WHO?

As for LIVING TOO LONG, one day we all know that we will get old cause day by day…birthday after birthday…our age will go up……and we wont know how long we will live….and what happen if we live till age 80????cause most of us will love to retire at age 55 or some love to retire early…and if we are to live till age 80 then after we retire at age 55, is our saving or EPF enough for us to live for another25 years without any income??????????what lifestyle you like to have when you retire or rather when you are old???????????easy and comfortable life whereby you can go out with old friends to yam cha and have coffee whenever you like or you have to sit at home all the time cause no money to go out for coffee….travelling around the countries that you love to?????or you cannot even afford to go to the pulau nearby for a holidy??????or staying in old folk home???????then you might say…well…still long time to go…why worry now????well…friends…if you dont look at this seriously now and act on it..am sorry to say that…your retirement life will be terrible..so…it is all goes back to..what you want to do for the old you….the choice is yours……..

Lastly about WEALTH CREATION, it can include accumulation of wealth or education fund for your children..well..you might say..am just a salary earner, how to accumulate wealth????well..the good news is…if you can start to save even as low as rm100 per month now , after 10 years or 20 years…or 30 years…you can see the few hundred thousand in your account or even one million (which i can show it to you if you buy me a coffee..hehe)….the most important thing is do you want to start to save????

I hope you are not having headache now after reading all my above sharing…hehe..well..dont worry…i have the solution which is simple and easy to perform..if you want to make sure you have the solutions for all the above that we have just discusses……all you have to do is just to get an insurance programme for yourself and get the insurance company take care of the above problem when the above happen., and this is so called transfer of risk..if you do not have an insurance programme which cover the above then you have to take the risk yourself .

Then you might say…i have no money to buy insurance and this is the most common sentence that we heard…well…friends…by putting aside rm2 to rm3 per day(which is just maybe a cup of tea tarik and a piece of roti canai)then you can have it olready..but if today..u do not want to put aside this rm2 to rm3 per day..then i am sorry to say that you might need to come out with hundred over thousand ringgit when things happen..especially to pay for the medical fees.  I think it is not the money that count cause even if you only have rm50 per month, there are still insurance programme for you but it is just the heart that counts or rather the responsibility…wheather you love your parents, your family members , your children or your loved one???????????????when there is love, am sure you can make the right decision for them.

If you need to know more, you are most welcomed to contact me, no obligation…and dont worry…the most you need to pay is my coffee..hehe….

Thanks for reading my sharing and hope i have done something for your family….have a good day and good week ahead….:)
